This party and holiday dip is a meal all by itself. Add Mama's Mediterranean Spices to one or more layer and everyone will want the recipe!


  • Mama's Mediterranean Spices
  • 2 cans refried beans
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 pint guacamole dip (or 2-3 cups of homemade guacamole)
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 2 bunches green onions
  • 2 cups sliced black olives
  • 6 diced medium tomatoes
  • 3 cups shredded Mexican, Colby Jack and/or Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Round tortilla chips (lots)


  1. Mix taco seasoning and 2-3 Tbs of Mama's Mediterranean Spices into sour cream. Blend well mixing all flavors. Add more Mama's for more kick! Set aside.
  2. Mix or prepare the guacamole and add 2-3 Tbs of Mama's Mediterranean Spices to the mix. Stir until smooth and spices are well blended.
  3. Spread refried beans evenly/smoothly in the bottom of a large casserole or deep dish serving tray (use clear glass if possible so guests can see the layers. Do not use metal or aluminum trays).
  4. Layer the remaining ingredients (green onions, sliced olives, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes) to your liking and color preference, with cheese added as the last/top layer. Spread carefully and slowly.
  5. Don't be stingy on the cheese.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Serve with round tortilla chips.

Add more or less of the Mama's Mediterranean Spices depending on how much heat/kick you want. Most people expect this type of dip to be spicy, so go for it! Mama's Mediterranean Spices also keeps the guacamole from getting brown (handy tip for making guacamole dip in the future!)

Have more tortilla chips on hand than you think you will need.

Great as a leftover dip and for adding to tacos or enchilada recipes.
